You'll get to see wildlife in their natural habitats, such as the majestic elephants in one of our National Parks and wonderful peacocks all around the country.
Day 1 + 2
Airport to Beruwala
Start your journey with a blissful and relaxing stay at our beachfront oasis. Unwind as you stroll along the sandy shores, feel the gentle sea breeze, and let the soothing sound of the waves wash away your cares. Take this time to recharge and prepare for an unforgettable adventure exploring the wonders of Sri Lanka. Let relaxation be your starting point for an incredible journey ahead. Here you will have the opportunity to visit our Amuura Permaculture Garden and see how cinnamon is harvested.

Day 3
Beruwala - Anawilundawa Sanctuary - Anuradhapura
After a proper breakfast you will head to Anawilundawa Sanctuary. The drive is around 3 hours. Anawilundawa is a nature reserve located in the Puttalam district of Sri Lanka. It is home to over 150 species of birds, making it a popular destination for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts. The sanctuary consists of several man-made tanks, which attract a variety of aquatic birds, including storks, egrets, and pelicans. Visitors can explore the sanctuary by foot or by boat, and may also catch a glimpse of some of the other wildlife that calls the area home, such as monkeys and reptiles. Anawilundawa Sanctuary is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the natural beauty and wildlife of Sri Lanka.

Day 4
Anuradhapura - Sigiriya
Anuradhapura is an ancient city in Sri Lanka with rich cultural and historical significance. Visitors can explore its ancient temples and Buddhist sites, as well as enjoy the city's natural beauty. It's a must-visit destination for history buffs and those seeking to experience Sri Lanka's vibrant cultural heritage.
Afterward, you will continue to your next tour hotel in Sigiriya, where you will spend the next two nights. It is the perfect starting point for the next two days of the tour program.
Day 5 & 6
Polonnaruwa & Sigiriya
In the morning, you will visit another UNESCO World Heritage site, the ruined city of Polonnaruwa - the second capital of the kingdom that was overgrown by jungle for 500 years. The now rather sleepy provincial town offers particularly magnificent and elaborately designed monuments, including the royal palace and a variety of great Buddha statues and stupas, set against a beautiful landscape. In the late afternoon, you will climb the famous Sigiriya rock, where you can admire the exquisite frescoes of the "Cloud Maidens" (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The eventful day is rounded off by a breathtaking panoramic view that you can enjoy from the plateau at sunset.
Day 6 & 7
Sigiriya – Dambulla – Kandy
Today, before heading to Kandy, you'll visit the Dambulla Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The over 2000-year-old caves are located in a 200m high rock and contain countless sitting, standing, and reclining Buddha statues of every shape and size, some of which were carved into the stone of the caves. The impressive cave paintings describe the life and teachings of Buddha. After that you will head to Kandy.
You'll spend two nights in Kandy.
Day 8
Kandy – Nuwara Eliya – Ella
In the morning, you will embark on a scenic train ride (approx. 3.5 hours) through stunning landscapes to the highlands of Sri Lanka. Enjoy the panoramic views of steep mountain passes, rushing mountain streams surrounded by lush green mountain ranges, and tea plantations as far as the eye can see. In Nuwara Eliya, also known as the "city above the clouds," you will be transported back in time to the British colonial era. The English colonial style can be seen throughout the town, from the houses and gardens to the churches and golf course. On the way to Ella, a visit to a tea factory is a must. Learn how the small tea plant is transformed into Sri Lanka's famous hot beverage. You will then continue your journey to Ella, where you will spend the night.
Day 9
Ella – Yala
In the morning, you will go on a hike through green tea plantations to climb the "Little Adams Peak", which offers a beautiful view of the surrounding mountainous landscape (easy, approx. 4 km, walking time: approx. 1.5 hours, +/-140 meters in altitude). While strolling through the fields, you can observe the women picking tea leaves over their shoulders. In Kataragama, you will experience a spiritual atmosphere in the evening. You will arrive at the significant temple complex in time for the evening prayers, with various Hindu and Buddhist temples. In Kataragama, coconuts are sacrificed during the ceremonies. After a loving prayer, the faithful smash the coconuts forcefully against stones and temple steps. Witness this bizarre spectacle and let your tour guide explain the meaning behind the ritual. Afterwards, you will continue your journey to Kataragama for an overnight stay.
Day 10 & 11
Kataragama – Yala-Nationalpark – Weligama
Today will be wild! You will go on a jeep safari through Yala National Park (duration 2.5-3 hours), which is home to elephants, water buffaloes, crocodiles, monkeys, and countless bird species. Perhaps you'll be lucky enough to spot one of the park's few leopards. After the extensive game drive, which hopefully provides many great snapshots for your photo album, you will head towards Weligama. Along the coastal road, you will encounter the once legendary stilt fishermen, who patiently wait for their catch of the day for hours on their wooden stilts in the water. You will also visit the famous coconut tree hill in Mirissa. After that you will stay in Weligama for two nights.
Day 12
Weligama - Galle
Today we continue our journey along the coast to Galle, one of the most beautiful cities in Sri Lanka. Before arriving in Galle you can swing on one famous coconut swings. After that you will continue to the colonial city with its 130,000 inhabitants is particularly impressive for its location by the sea and the exceptionally well-preserved old town from the 16th century, surrounded by the walls of the Galle Fort (UNESCO World Heritage site). At the southern tip of the city is the well-preserved Dutch Fort with its old fortifications and picturesque lighthouse (UNESCO World Heritage site). Stroll along the coastal streets, through the charming old town, and enjoy the colonial atmosphere.
Day 13 & 14
Galle - Beruwala
On the way from Galle, you can make a brief stop at the Tsunami Museum. The staff member at the museum makes an important contribution to raising awareness about the impact of the 2004 tsunami on Sri Lanka. Afterwards, you will return to your accommodation at Amuura Beach, where you have 2 more days to relax and unwind.
